Dina Raichel, MS, DVM


Born and raised just outside of New York City, Dr. Raichel completed a Biology degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994. She then received her Master's degree in Anatomy in 1999 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 from Colorado State University. There Dr. Raichel graduated with honors and earned multiple awards including several American Kennel Club scholarships and the J.R. Puckett Memorial Scholarship, awarded by the CSU faculty to “the most inspirational, loving & caring student”. She remained at CSU to complete an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Raichel then worked as an emergency doctor at several specialty veterinary hospitals in Colorado and the San Diego area. She brings her experience from some of the country's top veterinary hospitals to La Jolla and is honored to continue the tradition of excellence at Windan' Sea Veterinary Clinic.

In her free time, Dr. Raichel enjoys spending time with her family, participating in ocean sports, skiing, biking, and healthy cooking. She and her daughter are also integrally involved in local youth theatre. A standard poodle, 3 cats, and bird allow Dr. Raichel to share their home. 


Ira Abrams, DVM

Dr. Abrams grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Illinois' College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979, where he was proudly the Valedictorian of his class. Upon graduation, he worked for one year in Chicago and then he migrated to warmer weather in Los Angeles, California. After a year as an associate veterinarian in a small practice, Dr. Abrams moved to San Diego where he did relief veterinary work for several practices. He subsequently bought his own practice in San Marcos, California in 1985.
